About Our Gallery and Events |
Located in the heart of historic downtown Mariposa, Sierra Artists Gallery is Mariposa’s oldest continuously operating gallery having been established in 1969. It’s also the only artist cooperative in the county. Because of its close proximity to Yosemite, and its location in the beautiful Sierra Foothills, much of the beauty of the area has been captured in the work represented in the gallery. Unique art and gifts created by local artists are showcased in a variety of media including paintings, drawings, prints, pastels, photography, glass, gourds, jewelry and cards. A wide selection of miniature art is also available. Sierra Artists Gallery presents several special events each year including its annual Miniature Art Show and Sale in the Spring and its Gold Rush Art Show and Sale in the Fall. These events welcome many other local artists to exhibit their work in the gallery, thus representing a wide range of talent from the Sierra Foothills. A program is also offered to Sierra artisans to participate as a Guest Artist for one to two months. Click here to see their creations. Gallery art is often displayed at various community venues. Throughout the year, demonstrations and mini lessons are offered in many media by the members. Check here to see what is being offered! When you visit Sierra Artists Gallery you will be sure to meet one of our wonderful artists who can tell you about their work, inspiration and techniques. |
